SUMTER, SC — Sumter Police were called to a local restaurant after receiving reports of a man who tried to pay his tab with a trillion dollar bill.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Applebee’s on Broad Street in Sumter.
Police say Michael Williams, 53, of Sumter tried to pay his bill with a debit card, but it was declined. He then offered to pay with a trillion dollar bill.
Police were called, and Williams was arrested on an unrelated charge of contempt of magistrate’s court.
The Sumter Police Department continues to investigate.

So, a buddy of mine said his grandson swallowed a nickel and his son took the kid to the Emergency room. The Doctor said they wanted to keep an eye on him for a while but he should be OK. My buddy said they would let him know if there was any change.
