Parents recorded how much violent media children were exposed to and researchers took DNA samples of children at birth.
They found that children with the particular gene variant were far more likely to watch violent TV shows and play games such as Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty.
Previous studies have shown that children are in part influenced by what their parents watch.
However, this is the first study to look at the possible genetic influence of what children choose to watch.

well this may be true
i have two genes that have great effect on me
the “i want a beer” gene
and the
“i want to see sometin’ nekked” gene
Hmmm, any progress on finding that “violence gene” that causes the “knockout game”, or “youths” and “teens” to get into so much trouble?
Next the government will want this gene removed from the pool.
Scientist Smientist.
Soory “scientisrs”
but TV wasn`t invented til 1920`-30`s but genes had been around thousands and thousands of years already-
long long time.
morons.
And what did they do before video games?? See the problem!!
People have been watching violent entertainment for millennia. It could very well be a gene that predisposes people towards liking violent entertainment. However, liking violent games does not mean a person is violent.
Nope...You’ll get special help at school. The school will get extra money. They will hire a physciatrist and analyst and two aids, pay them some ridiculous salary and everyone will be happy.
So all the other people who bought/watched violent video games DID NOT have this gene. That had to be the majority. So the study proves what?? Lotta cr**. Wonder how much someone got paid for this GENEous discovery.
Next the government will want this gene removed from the pool.
Ever read Ted Dekker? Moral series, government remove all emotions except fear genically from every citizen. Leaving fear allowed them to control people.
I meant mortal series

Go to the amphitheater and watch the Christians get eaten?
Just think in XX number of years: All mankind is "controlled and genetically mapped". You are a leader in this brave new world. You, or someone close to you, comes down with some rare disease or needs an organ transplant. Assuming we can't grow them, you turn to the Department of Genetics and have them look up one of the drones that is a genetic match for your needs. Next thing you know, you or your family member or crony is doing fine, and the drone is short a kidney (or lungs, or heart).
Don't think it can't happen? Ask a Holocaust survivor or a descendent of one...
I don’t joke, actually. The government would love nothing more than to genetically manipulate the general public. There is nothing it fears more than a populace with both the will and the means to defy it. It sounds like conspiracy theory type stuff now, but I know very well what happened in Nazi Germany, that it might still be going on today had Hitler not been stupid and declared war on the entire planet. I know what happened in the Soviet Union. It is foolish to think it won’t happen again, especially with the better technology.
Related to having an IQ between 65 and 80?
Um, we have known this for some time, its called a “Y” chromosome!
related to low I.Q. and poor impulse control. It also might strongly correlate with very high self-esteem.
I also see perfect beautiful mulatto people in the future.
Has anyone noticed the beauty product commercials of late.
They seem to avoid anyone who is “ too white or black”.
They definitely really seem to avoid really dark people. Why?
What’s wrong with a violence gene? Either you have to have the capacity to commit violence, or somebody else has to have the capacity to do it on your behalf. Otherwise, you will probably not survive. Even Christ displayed violence on at least one occasion, and allowed some limited violence on another.
