My Valentine present from my wife was a ProMag 25 round magazine for my Marlin 795. I hope to test it out Tuesday. I’m also going to zero the scope at 25 yards (closest the range has to 25 meters) so I’ll be ready for Appleseed next month. Woo Hoo!
I just found their Wiki page, and you’re right: major world ***underdog*** status. Heh.
I’m still seeing a little higher than normal pricing on most ammunition, and also limits on how much you can purchase. But .22LR ammo is still in short supply and pricey.
I got a fair deal on some Fiocchi .223 varmint ammo yesterday, though.
So, Murphy went along to the range... Did you change ammo or use new/different mags? Arms locked and stiff? Missed your other post. Nice looking piece!
CZ 82! I haven’t found anything not to like about my 82. Thinking about slicking the trigger a bit but not sure if that’s a good idea in a carry weapon. Any thoughts?
Slide stops are not universal. First time I cleaned my new Kimber Solo I didn’t put their stupid slide stop back correctly, which scratches the side of the frame reinstalling it, and it jammed every time until I figured out what was wrong.
Here was 5 shots with Barnes 110 grain loads.
I did another 10 shots just to make sure...
No changes except Remington 220 grain loads.
Thegirl played along too. Here is one of the birds she winged with a 22.
Appleseed,,,,
I did it and Loved It!
How bout the Connecticut Scofflaws???
Kahrs will do that too.
I’ll never understand why THE MOST common ammo, 22LR, can become in short supply.
I’m working incoming loads/inventory at the large FFLs on Thursday eve/Fri morn - 50% ammo, two large consignments of NFA Weapons, and usual store replacements plus new stuff ordered from SHOT Show. I was down looking at the manifests today, feeding the Kimber Twins and exercising the Beowulf 50cal. If some reasonable .22LR comes in, I snag a few bricks. How are you doing for 5.7 stuff, Clint?
Yeah, the CZ82 is sweet. I don’t use mine for carrying on a regular basis (been using my Kel-Tec .380). I haven’t made any alterations whatsoever on my CZ, so I’m not the best to ask, lol.
Are the 220 grain loads subsonic?
There must be a lot more preppers than I figured.
It’s been long enough since I cleaned my Kimber Solo I’d have to youtube how reinstall the slide stop.
You have to push it against the frame and turn it while letting the slide go forward IIRC. WHICH scotches the frame!!! WTF!!!
Isn’t there only 1 or 2 mfgrs of that rimfire caliber? IIRC, the process isn’t a speed race for volume. Plus, I know a lot of people who gotten .22cal conversion barrels for their Kimbers, Glocks, SIGs, S&W, Colts etc and have bought shitloads of .22LR/SR since it’s cheaper than 9mm, .38, .357, .45, .40 etc and lots of new folks coming into the market, choosing that caliber for first firearm.
My CZ82 is my favorite handgun.
Stock trigger on mine is fine. I carry with a round in the chamber and the hammer down. First shot double action, the rest single action.
Yes they were.
I haven't found any other weights on the shelf. Gonna have to go online or roll my own to try some intermediate weights.
If there is only 1to2 mfgs that make .22LR that would explain the shortage.
Still, if preppers are buying it up that doesn’t seem like a first choice for personal -protection/hunting ammo they would need/want?
