Delta Airlines provides an Honor Guard for our Fallen Military. I didn't realize they did this or if any other carrier does anything similar.
Thank you Delta.

Wow. The fact that it’s not widely known shows that they do it to honestly honor the fallen and not for their own glory.

Agree. That is so decent!
If they are the only airlines that do this, I will ONLY fly with Delta...this shows they have ALL their priorities in line!
To: RedMDer

That’s the international terminal at Atlanta’s airport.
and yes, Delta does it right.
I have been on a Delta “Angel Flight” where the Captain announced the situation and the honors due the hero flying home in the cargo hold. A fairly young (to me anyways) Army Sergeant in his dress blues was on board. The Captain instructed that we should all remain in our seats let him depart first as he was accompanying one of our heroes on his last flight home.
NO ONE acted up or disturbed the situation.
Frankly it was heart-wrenching.
I couldn’t even tell the story to others without chocking up.

American does as well.
Pretty sure most all do it just depends on Routing/Destination (and Aircraft size)
Most All Air Crew are former Military Air Crew.

Choked up just reading your story - would have been able to hold back tears if on one of those flights.

During the 1970’s and ‘80’s I was a flight attendant for Delta. The feeling within the company at that time was that of a "family community". Delta had a warmth and unity that other large companies lacked. If your child needed help with addiction, “Daddy Delta” was there to help with extended leaves and financial support. On more than one occasion, the captain and cockpit crew stood at the door to salute the young soldiers who disembarked on their way to fight in Viet Nam. I thought all of that goodness and patriotism had long since vanished. Today I remember with pride that I had the good fortune to have once been a Delta employee. Thank you for posting this article.
