FAIR WARNING: If you're squeamish, be aware that the link features a full photo of a lion eating a bloody giraffe carcass.

I suppose simply trading breeding stock is too advanced in thought for these zoos.

Like royalty in Europe, most zoo populations are pretty inter-related.

Or simply castrating the least desirable male.

how about offering the giraffe to another zoo somewhere? Geez people are idiots. Just get rid of it like it’s a damn defective toaster or something.
So effing cavalier about life of all kinds.

Couldn’t they just send them to Arkansas?
Speaking of which...
The raging legal debate in Arkansas this week is this: If a man divorces his wife, is she still his cousin?

LOL.
Crosseyed zoo animals, and royals.

No, but they do remain siblings.

Zoos are cruel and there’s absolutely no reason for them.

There's a Q&A sidebar at the link. In discussions about the prior giraffe, I think castration was not an option because other adult males will still fight & kill it.

At least they aren’t offering the live giraffe into the lions den so they can hone their hunting skills.

Lions eat giraffes and everything else that moves.
That's what lions do.
People can not like that, but there is nothing they can do about it.
Seems like the natural thing to do with an extraneous giraffe.

Second Danish zoo plans to kill young giraffe to stop inbreeding If Sven has to whack a Gy-raffe to keep from shagging his sister, who am I to criticize?
To: workerbee
Just like the case of the last giraffe, there are plenty of zoos and other institutions and individuals who would gladly take him. There are plenty of people who would gladly adopt a child rather than see it aborted as well. What kind of sicko mindset uses murder as a first resort rather then a last?
To: humblegunner
I’m kinda wondering what that those longneck deer taste like.

Shouldn’t these genius biologists at the zoo think about not breeding the giraffes .
