We stayed at that hotel after the military ball there last December. We moved from Seattle to KY in 2011. This epitomizes one of the reasons we chose to move here.
In many very good ways, it is as though we’ve gone back in time 50 years. MANY good ways.

Hearing the National Anthem has always moved me, but for the last decade or so, it always seems to bring tears to my eyes.
It’s the profound sense of loss I feel every time.
Not that we still aren’t a great country in a lot of ways, but, being in my mid 40’s, I was alive to remember a little bit of what we were before. I miss it and the older I get the more I believe it’s gone forever.

Very nice. Those kids do a marvelous job but, quite naturally, I prefer this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=—9HYiq2lOE The singing in this video doesn’t match the quality of the kids singing your anthem but, our game, our song and on our ice! Flame away!

Definitely. And the America they’re singing praises to isn’t the America I grew up in. Now, that was a country!

Sadly, the older one is, the greater that sense of loss, imho.
