I cry every time during the scene when Gus is saying goodbye to Clara and Lorri before setting off for Montana.

Robert Duvall makes one heck of a cowboy.

I first read the book over the Labor Day weekend in 1986; I literally couldn’t put it down.

Hahahaha. I’m a nice lady, why am I laughing at that? I love it. May have to watch the whole thing. Can you get this on Netflix?

You should read Street’s of Laredo When an older W.F.Call goes after his last killer. If that doesn’t bring a tear to your eye I don’t know what will.

Definitely one of the best ever made. I bought the DVD and rewatched it last year.

“Ain’t much of a crime, whacking’ a surly bartender.”

I love watching Duvall in Broken Trail, Open Range, and Lonesome Dove. He brought a whole new style to the western genre.

The theme music to Lonesome Dove puts chills down my spine (just brought it up in iTunes). The Emmy-winning score by the Basil Poledouris is four hours long.

I resisted watching it for many years and then I caved. And I had thought the best thing Duvall had done was The Great Santini.

Listening to that melody reminds me that once there was an America.
