It is young earth creationists that make Christianity look bad in these debates. Nye should have rather debated someone like Hugh Ross.
How old was Adam when he was created?
Rom 5:12
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
The god who ordained death as a matter of perfecting his creation is a sorry god. He’s not my God. I want nothing to do with your religion, as it gives no hope of life. Your god loves death. If I were lost, in my sins, with no hope of eternal life, I’d want a god who offered life. If I were the average prideful sinner, so encouraged by modernity’s abhorrence of God’s Word, I’d create my own god as you have.
I presume you define Christianity as believing Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was crucified on a Cross, buried and resurrected after three days for our sins.
If you believe this, then believing creation, as outlined in Genesis, shouldn’t be a problem.
Jesus believed in Creation. He should, as He as there in the beginning.
Right - the Scope's trial "age of rocks" debate which is irrelevant to intelligent design and creation. The Bible doesn't date the age of the earth, only the age of the (re)creation of which man is a part.
In the end, the use of “shaming” or looking bad” seems to be the last but most effective weapon of Darwinian despots. It induced a lot of folks to do horrible things in the 20th century and the use of ‘shaming” will probably bring us close to annihilation in this century . Better hope that the “flying spaghetti monster”, (or dare I say it...the God of Abraham and Isaac)intervenes before all life is lost!
