Very nice that the owner is more concerned for the safety of the violinist than of the violin.

So now some drug-addict is in possession of a centuries-old Stradivarius worth $millions, which at the same time, will be nearly impossible to sell because it is so famous.
I wonder what he/she will do with it?

The owner is very gracious.
Still, Almond should have shown the amount of care needed to keep the violin safe from thieves. I’m sure most of us would know how to do that.

If I were the owner of the Strad, I’d tell everyone that Almond is nuts!

Quite a gracious statement. Reading between the lines, you can imagine the loss felt by the owner of this instrument. She seems to have seen herself as a steward of a device with a greater legacy than just your average bit of property.I can understand it, as music can be extraordinarily personal to some folks.
Personally, I feel for both the owner and the fellow who has been able to play it for her.

This begs one question.
Was it insured for the 3 million?
I wonder how bad does he really want it back?
