The music giants joined forces to promote marriage equality as both gay and straight couples were married at the same time.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Same Love" anthem became the theme song for 33 newlyweds during the 56th Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
The gay and straight weddings were officiated by Queen Latifah while the hit song about equality was performed by the rap duo with Madonna hitting the stage with them, along with Mary Lambert and jazz artist Trombone Shorty.

"This song is not a love song for some of us but for all of us," said Latifah as she introduced the special segment.
The mass of couples exchanged rings at the same time as the singer pronounced them wed while Madonna emerged to sing her classic "Open Your Heart."

From Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Many people in this country self-identify as Christian but they don’t know the Master. Many of them couldn’t even explain the gospel. Those truly born again are standing strong and they will continue to stand strong. What has happened is actually a return to an historic norm. Most throughout human history have not lived in a society that was as safe and comfortable for Christians as the United States was for the first 225 years of our history.
I’m really hard on pastors, popes, and the many silly trends within the church world because I can’t stand the thought of anyone believing he is saved when, based on God’s Word, he is not. Most religion is false religion.
Start by believing in God first.
I don’t know what that means. Was it aimed at someone else or me?
May the hands of the demented who applauded this sickness, rot off at their limp wrists.
people felt is more important to make a “statement” than it was to vote for a candidate that could win.
My posting response to you.
I haven’t been to the movies in 28 years and likely never will again. I can’t take the sound systems. That said I did watch The Bible last year on TV and evidently so did a lot of other people.
Yep which is how our nation was formed to start with.
Well, Lah Dee Frickin’ Dah!
OK like I said I hadn’t heard it. I was curious though as to who had wrote it and it surprised me. Thanks for the link.
Yet this is exactly the reason they give. Trouble is, most Americans no longer have a problem with the incessant barrage of rot that constitutes pop culture in this country.
It’s a song by Joan Osbourne...I have it on my iPod because of the guitar riff more than the words and sentiment. Had a discussion with a priest about it when it came out: pro-Christianity or not? No definitive conclusion...
Yea my Mom gets a little hot under the collar watching the news. LOL.. You're right though.
Pretty good for a white girl...i like the key she sang in, too...nice and low.
Wonder what’s happened to her?
....Not if Putin gets his way. You know his position on gays.
Hearing now on a local conservative talkradio show that the “Gimme Shelter” movie came out at number #6. Not bad at all.
I see. Well, I will assume that’s your general recommendation for our country because I most assuredly believe in God for only “the fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” I not only believe in God, but Christ also, the Jesus Christ who came and died “according to the Scriptures.” All of my hope is in Him. “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36)
They ruin tv and parades and now the Grammys.
It was already a freak show and now it degenerate even more.
A. Queen Latifah is not an ordained minister, so no one was ‘married’, and
B. Why was Madonna dressed as Colonel Sanders?
LOL
I’m surprised Madonna didn’t defer. That young singer she sang with put her to shame.
My wife walked out of the roo and I reached for the fast forward button.
Tape these shows and watch them in 1/3 of the time.
There was some good moments. Ringo and Paul, Carole King and the young singer, Waylon, Kris and Willie.
