I just purchased a Nexus 7. Any freepers own one? Do you have any suggestions?

I trust the advice of freepers more than any other source. Do any of you own the Nexus 7? What things should I do and not do? Lock? Unlock? Root? Don't Root? I would enjoy reading your tips and suggestions.

I have found my Nexus 6 units to be quite serviceable, if somewhat self-willed.
I especially like Pris, the Pleasure Model -

According to the Director, Rachael and Deckard were Nexus-7 (note the gold eyes in key scenes).

Sean Young has not aged as I would have anticipated.
Shame, that.

I have one. I really like mine. The only thing I don’t like is that the camera is set in such a way that you can’t turn the device around to take the picture. You have to face it towards yourself. I’ve had it since May. I don’t lock mine, mostly because I’m afraid that I won’t be able to unlock it. I don’t know anything about Root.

Get a Poetic Slimline case for $15. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Sleek, perfect fit, turns the tablet on or off when opening/closing it. Love my Nexus 7. Hardly use my PC anymore.

Get Chromecast, plug it into your HDMI slot on your TV and your Nexus 7 plays on your TV.
Next, if you did not get the warranty, don’t drop it on a tile floor.
A great app is Tunein. With that you can pick up FOXNews (audio of the TV programming only) and every radio station in the world.
Start harvesting WIFI hotspots. Your email will download as you drive past the hotspots.
Oh, and it is way better than an Apple Mini so congrats.

Love my Nexus 7. Hardly use my PC anymore.I suspect there are a lot of people posting to FR with their tablets (the smart ones with a Nexus 7 btw). I'm at my PC right now.
However, that could be the reason so few pictures are being posted these days. The HTML gets a bit challenging on a tablet.

Did you get Chromecast?

Just got a new LED for the bedroom and was going to get a Chromecast to get Netflix. Thanks for the tip!

I watch YouTube programming. Regular TV is so boring now.
You will love chromecast.

Make sure you have a good reliable wireless connection if you use Chromecast.

Root. Easy to do and allows you to remove a lot of bloatware and allows you much more control of the UI of your device.
Then install Titanium Backup Pro from the Google Store.

TuneIn is OK, but I prefer Xiialive.com, mostly for music from around the world, although I have several music apps on my android phone.

I suspect there are a lot of people posting to FR with their tablets I use my IPhone 5 to do most of my surfing, like right now.
