ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - UPDATE: WIS will provide the latest information here.
A student was killed on the South Carolina State University campus after a shooting Friday afternoon.
At a 4 p.m. news conference, SC State police officials said the shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. outside Hugine Suites.
Police locked down the campus a short time later while they pursued four suspects in connection with the shooting. That lockdown has since been lifted.
Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Capt. Mike Adams told TheTandD.com police are assisting SC State officers with the manhunt.
At least two other shootings have taken place at SC State University in the past 20 years.
