Seems the 42-year-old Las Vegas musician was sitting on the rails in Auburn, Washington while his friend Trina Willardson, manager of the band, snapped pictures with Mount Ranier as a backdrop when he was hit by an Amtrak Cascades train on Saturday.
BNSF would like folks to be aware of their no trespassing policy.
He missed his training.
Not sure why most trains look like they are barely moving when the truth is they are going a lot faster than they look. People that try to beat them at railroad crossings in a vehicle regularly loose that game because they think the train is “way down the tracks, plenty of time to get across in front” many find out the hard way how fast it is moving. My dad hitched rides on trains as a teen during the depression, he said you learn real quick to judge how fast one is going so you can survive getting on and off. Scary stuff!
