“I’m there. W7 is fairly stable. As long as the drivers are available.”

Be aware that Microsoft is dropping all support for Windows 7 in 2015, so it won’t be around for long.

After the stunt msoft just pulled on the people using 8.1 preview and the grief involved in downloading software items with all the foist-ware which appears to have crept in since the last time I did that, I’m thinking more and more in terms of LINUX. There was no warning that I ever saw.

Wow, I just looked it up, support ends in less than a year from now, who do they think they are, HTC?

They may say so now as a ploy to get people to upgrade to Windows 8, but I would bet it will be a later date, maybe much later. XP which has been out a lot longer is scheduled to have MS support dropped this April and I do believe in that cutoff date.

Extended support lasts until 2020, so it’s still got life.

In a pig's eye.

They will HAVE to support Win7 for the next 5 years or more. Businesses don't just bend over the way Ballmer wants them too.

If Microsoft understood their customers, they wouldn't be in the straits they're in now, watching their markets washing away like sand at high tide in a storm.

Microsoft still thinks they can push their customers around. Ain't happening any more.
