I was clicking through some links on Wikipedia last night, and stumbled across the "List of One-hit Wonders" in the United States." Amazingly, they have separate, detailed individual lists for each decade ( I've posted the links below..)I was astonished at how many there were, how many I'd liked, and many I'd pretty much forgotten; and I spent several hours on YouTube, reminiscing, and then downloading some of the tunes. So, enjoy.. if you have a favorite, opine below...
Spirit In The Sky Norman Greenbaum

We Five: "You Were On My Mind" Gawd, she had a great set of pipes..
Yes, ‘Tip Toe Through The Tulips,’ - Tiny Tim.
BTW..you did get my freepmail about the contribution?
Melanie Safka’s “Brand New Key”
When first released, “Brand New Key” was banned by some radio stations because some saw sexual innuendo in the lyrics. It was a multi-million 70s tune. She had other top 40s hits but nothing like “I Got A Brand New Pair of Roller Skates, You Got A Brand New Key”. It was one of those tunes you couldn’t get out of your mind.

The Verve - “Bittersweet Symphony”
I remember that well..BTW just Googled her...last year Miley Cyrus did a video of one of her songs..
Greg Kihn Band - Break up song.
Tommy Tutone - Jenny Jenny (867-5309).
Brutal to narrow it down. But for me ... Earth Angel.
Come on Eileen - Drexy’s Midnight Runners

“They didn’t make the list, but they should have..they were basically a OHW, IMHO:
We Five: “You Were On My Mind” Gawd, she had a great set of pipes..” and a great set of t... too.
I was just a kid, but it struck a chord.
We Five - my all-time favorite. 1965.
The guitar licks were ahead of their time too.
I have the original on vinyl, performed by Richard and Sylvia.
(I think they wrote it)
How about Red Rubber Ball as a OHW?
