It's an old question, and to some a first-date necessity: Are you a dog person or a cat person? In their respective roles as both work animals and pets (and sometimes even gods), dogs and cats have lived alongside humans for thousands of years. Don’t ever trust a cat person. Cat people are slightly weird and only care about themselves and what is in their best interest. They are very much like the cats they own in this regard.

Having lived all over and traveled the world much; either or both, depending on location and personal living conditions. In deployed areas any stray cat or dog was always welcomed. And yes, we scoffed at the rules against approaching strays. Both cats or a dogs did wonders to relieve stress. Of course, we exercised prudence and took our new four legged friends to the local military vet for shots.
I’ve always thanked the Lord for giving us a choice of a cat or a dog from which we could choose for companionship and unconditional love. I miss my departed furry friends and continue to enjoy my current ones. I pray there is a place form them in heaven.
Regards.
