ROCK HILL — A crying, bruised woman told police that her boyfriend threw a coffee mug, tomato and sheathed knife at her before he tackled her to the ground, choked her and then rubbed tomato in her face early Friday, deputies say.
At about 12:10 a.m., deputies were sent to a home on Yesebehena Drive, near Reservation Road, where they met with a woman, 29, according to a York County Sheriff’s report. The woman told deputies that Timothy Price, 30, who is her boyfriend and father of her child, began arguing because she dropped pizza.
Price threw a coffee mug filled with liquid at her, but missed. She then threw a tomato at him. That’s when Price picked up a knife still in its sheath and flung it at her, the report states. The knife missed, but Price allegedly threw the tomato back at her. He then rushed at her, tackling her to the ground and putting her into a choke hold, the report states. Price let the woman get off the ground, and she ran out of the house.
While she was running away in the front yard, Price yelled that “he was better than that” and apologized, the report states. The woman returned to the house, at which time Price tackled her again, wrapped his hands around her neck and began choking her. He then rubbed the tomato in the woman’s face before he let her up again, according to the report. The woman ran to a neighbor’s house and called police.
When deputies arrived, Price would not let them inside, although the woman’s daughter was inside with him, the report states. The woman gave deputies permission to force their way into the house. Deputies kicked in the door, realizing that Price put chairs under the door knobs to make it harder to get inside. Price told deputies he had nothing to say as they arrested him, charging him with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
Inside the house, deputies found tomato smeared on the wall, liquid on the carpet and items turned over in the living room, the report states. The woman had a cut on her forehead, marks around her neck and pieces of tomato smeared in her ear and hair.
Price on Friday remained jailed at the York County Detention Center.

It’s more entertaining and better scripted than 90% of TV, and much more worthwhile than listening to how awful everything in the world is every single day on the news.
