Not even a baby Cthulhu. Cthulhu would not be pleased by your insinuation that he was ever a baby!

Not like a dog does. Being a support staff for many cats and dogs in my 60 years, dogs love you unconditionally. Cats have caveats.

And then they turn into adults, get married, have babies, and realize how smart you are. My 2 children and their spouses have given me 5 grand children. They call me for advice and use it. My daughter and son both see me as Yoda and they are Luke Skywalker. You really can’t compare children to pets.

Cats are like butterflys.
They don’t need an excuse for being.

But butterflies don’t scream at me because they see a 1 inch circle of the bottom of their bowl without food covering it.

Also are you saying my 19 year old cat can live outside fly around and eat nectar?

I’m saying that like butterflies, a cat’s beauty, grace and the joy they bring to us is their excuse for being.

I understood you point. I was giving my counter point. I do love cats. I love dogs more.

I’m still waiting for mine to turn into adults, so perhaps my perspective is limited.

It happens pretty quickly. Seems like my daughter and son were born yesterday. My daughter turned 34 in Dec and has 3 daughters 6 yrs 4 yrs and 2 yrs. My son will be 33 in May and has a 5 year old son and a 2.5 year old daughter. My kids and their spouses are all college graduates and have been independent since graduation. My daughter was never a problem. My son made a few stupid moves in his freshman year of college. But he finished undergraduate with honors and finished graduate school at the top of his class. Just be tough when you have to be but never forget to let them know you love them.. Grandparenting is much easier.
