“What kind of “soul” music are we talking about?”
New Orleans Soul - Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, so many more singers, great soul love songs, so easy to dance with this music. My husband and I were dancers. Then, there was the time we were dancing to soul music and a man stopped by us on the dance floor and said, “Get a room.”

—get some BT and inject it in the stem near the ground. That’s how I grow squash—
Inject it? How is that done? It seems to be a powder.
To: rightly_dividing
I've got a liquid form that I bought at Lowe's.

I don’t know what it is to start with - what is it - where do you buy it - how do you inject it - give specifics - don’t leave me hanging on a limb with not enough info.

Thuricide is the brand name.

To: Marcella
Lowe's. Thuricide. Large bore needle on a syringe. I inject some into the center of the stem about 1/2 inch above ground level.

Great answer! Thanks, maybe I will think about some pickling cukes and yellow squash this year.
To: JRandomFreeper
Do I even want to ask where/how to get a large bore needle on a syringe?— Its hard enough just to get cold meds now.
To: rightly_dividing
I went to the feed store. I didn't have any problems getting them there.

Feed store. Penicillin is very viscous. Needs a large needle. You should be able to get a syringe for a dollar.

Wow. Thank you for sharing that knowledge. Is one shot good for the season? How many cc per plant?

One shot seems to do it. I've even used it after they have started damaging the stem and it stopped the borer. (duh, should have done it earlier). I use about .5 to 1 cc per stem.
I don't carefully measure it. I load up the syringe and hit all the plants that are vulnerable, one after the other.

Plenty of Syringes/needles on Amazon - just look for a large bore one, I will do that. I have plenty of small ones used for diabetic shots that we had for husband.

The way I understand BT, is that it is a synthesis of protein. Kills some worms by cementing their bowels. Others get such bad cramps that they go somewhere else to eat. Somewhere far far away. Like Texas.

It's one of the few things I use, besides DE. I try to be careful not to use anything that will damage the micro-biota in my soil. I find that if I take care of the micro-fauna in the soil, the vegetables do just fine.

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a sporulating, Gram-positive facultative-aerobic soil bacterium. Its principal characteristic is the synthesis, during sporulation, of a crystalline inclusion containing proteins known as delta-endotoxins or Cry proteins. These proteins have insecticidal properties.
That was my understanding, anyway. ;)

LOL
Now you are talking way above my thinking.
