You like Wiki? Read it and weep:
***Not particularly. In a previous thread you keep pointing me to your anti-science Luddite websites and I keep pointing you to things like LENR-Canr.org, so we need an intermediate ground. Significantly, in the example I presented, you were claiming that Rossi is a convicted con man, but he isn’t. He’s a convicted tax evader, and many FReepers posting today would go to jail for what he’s been convicted of.
Seldom have scientists heaped so much scorn on anyone.
***Science by consensus. Wonderful. I suppose you’re just a dyed-in-the-wool AGW sympathizer as well.
Thank you.
That should read 12KA, not 12KW.
I especially like this one, which goes straight to the heart of these claims:
***I especially like the fact that he’s only spending private money, whereas your fraudulent hot-fusion buddies have already spent hundreds of $billions of public money on their chimera.
This is the Internet, and anyone can claim to have a PhD. I’m content to let the quality of your posts and mine serve as a guide to anyone reading these threads as to which of us is a retired condensed matter theorist, and which of us is simply a true believer in pseudo-scientific twaddle.
You are wasting your time posting any actual scientifically valid explanation on a Kevmo thread.
Yeah, but other people need to know not to put their money into this junk science.
Kevmo and his ilk, by evangelizing this junk science, end up getting even more suckers to sign up each time around.
I can’t even grasp spending 60 Million dollars on what is basically a basement science experiment, using wisely chosen surplus components.
Old PT Barnum was right...
There is no independent scientific confirmation of the hydrino, and BLP has a patent problem. So they have nothing to sell but bull shit.
***I’m singularly impressed with your concern about BLP’s patent problem. If they demo like they say, they won’t have one. You sure have a lot of faith in your psdeudo-scientific bowlsheet.
The company is therefore dependent on investors with deep pockets and shallow brains.”
***Sounds a lot like hot-fusion guys to me, deep pockets and people still willing to pour money down that rathole after 50 years and still results 50 years on the horizon.
There is also an absolutely delicious quote from a Princeton Physics Nobel Laureate, which is even better, but the language is so deprecating I can’t even post it on FR without getting banned.
***How about the Physics Nobel Laureate Feynman: Experiments trump theory. No doubt you have trouble with that scientific self-evident factoid.
Don’t worry, zer0bama will grab all the credit for this as well, and throw lots of bones to his terrorist muzzie friends.
Unfortunately, as in the case of con man Rossi, sometimes the gullible are highly educated people, even PhD physicists.
The situation is entirely analogous to that which we saw in the 1960's, 70's and 80's with claims by "parapsychologists" that ESP was real. On numerous occasions, people who should have known better were given bogus demonstrations of clock-starting, spoon-bending and other dubious psycho-kinetic phenomena and pronounced them "real." The usual subtext was "A person with my education and sophistication could not be fooled by a charlatan."
Yeah. Right.
When trained magicians were brought on the scene, these ESP demonstrations quickly yielded null results. Undeterred, psychic "researchers" claimed a psi effect that the presence of skeptics destroyed the abilities of practitioners to demonstrate the skill.
Yeah. Right.
Rossi managed to dupe a handful of physicists during one demonstration -- who did not really get to examine his apparatus, a fact to which they subsequently admitted. That doesn't stop Kevmo from repeatedly invoking the exaggeration that "independent researchers" have "verified" the E-Cat and other bogus devices such as this one. The usual defense is, of course, that trade secrets are involved which will be revealed as soon as the patents are finalized.
Yeah. Right.
BLP itself says it is not.
***I suppose a proper definition is in order. What is the difference between LENR and HENR? Where do we go for a definition that skeptopaths and LENR afficianados both agree on?
Feynman, the practical, tough, NY kid would also have said: “money talks, and bullsh!t walks.” The ultimate experimental verification will come when one of these devices is operating somewhere, to the profit of the purchaser. That is never going to happen.
And it does.
Kevmo probably doesnt even know what an eigenstate is
***I tell you what. Open up a LENR thread with ONLY graduate level physicists (make sure you verify FaudZarguna really has a grad level degree) and we’ll see just how far your discussion goes. If your scientific knowledge level is so high, why aren’t you contributing to the scientific discussion on all the LENR theory threads I’ve posted? Oh, I already know the answer: you’re just here to snipe, rather than contribute.
I can generate million of watts also if I spend a lot of time dragging my socked feet across the rug and then discharging little lightning sparks doesnt mean much in the big scheme of things.
***Gee, for someone talking about eigenstates and all that fancy scientific jargon, you don’t seem to know your physics very well. You can generate millions of VOLTS by dragging your socks, but not millions of WATTS. If what you say were true, most of us would be dead.
Paragraphs are your friends. Especially if you’re just gonna copy & paste from wikipedia or somewhere else. Say what you have to say. Where did I EVER say “proof that it is real”? Where? NOWHERE. Straw argument, very first sentence. The rest isn’t worth reading.
I am not a graduate level physics major. I am just a lowly EE/CPE.
However, I can tell you that the experiment as they laid out, has serious reporting flaws, serious setup flaws, and the catalyst mumbo-jumbo they spill out doesn’t pass the sniff test.
The mentioning of power, and no mentioning of energy consumption/production says it all for me. My Con-radar immediately detects a con artist on the horizon.
If you had a solid engineering background, not even a physics major background, you’d see the problems inherent in their PR release. A real physics major, or grad student, or professor, would be face palming at this demonstration’s PR release packet.
Yes! You can buy these wonderful machines. However, because they involve dark energy and dark matter, they also involve a hitherto little used financing method called “dark credit.”
***As a matter of fact, this corresponds directly to what you’ve been posting: Dark Knowledge. It is the direct application of Knowledge Unobtained but Pretended. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be flunking freshman level critical thinking while pushing your supposed grad level physics degree.
Unlike conventional credit, where you obtain the commodity and pay for it over time with interest, with Hydrogino technology, you pay millions up front, and then in just “12 to 18 months” you will receive your dark energy Hydroteeny generator.
***And if you’re lucky, in 60 years’ time, you might actually spend as much money as FraudZarguna’s scam artists have gathered in hot-fusion. And FZ is a perfect mentor for such activity, having admitted that, as a direct quote of him, that he “was on the guvmint teat” for years.
Although this is NOT A LENR THREADTM
***Shows how much you know.
a number of cold fusion generators have also been funded with “dark credit.”
***And with millions of Joules produced, they have generated 14 ORDERS of MAGNITUDE more bang for the buck than the frauds pushing hot-fusion over the last 50 years.
-————www.mail-archive.com/vortex-l@eskimo.com/msg85822.html-——————
Unfortunately, like the Hydrobogus device, the payoff period often involves another new concept, called “dark time,” during which 12-18 months never arrives.
***And yet, this “dark time” is 100X less than the “dark time” already wasted on the fraud of hot-fusion and still, 100X more to come.
