SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - A Texas woman arrested on suspicion of killing her newborn son and dumping him in the trash told detectives she "strangled the baby and watched him die," according to an arrest affidavit released by San Antonio police on Wednesday.

The body of the infant, likely less than a week old, was found stuffed in a duffel bag on the intake conveyor belt of a Waste Management recycling center in San Antonio two days before Christmas.

She looked to self-abort? Wanted to save the money by not paying for an abortion? Watch Witch Wendy spin this into “Republicans’ fault because they are against funding abortion and want to limit to 20 weeks.” I don’t care whether she was depressed or bat-crap crazy. Murder is murder. Perhaps she registered under a false name because she knew full well she planned on killing that baby.

You’re not weird, but you really don’t belong in a country of laws and due process.

There are other nations where due process is quickly shortened, unfortunately, it is usually at the whims of a all-controlling dictator, but you can’t have everything, right?

That's very possible.

In cases such as these where the evidence agrees with a confession, how much "due process" does it take to saitisfy you?

As for me, I'm all for laws and due process. What I'm not for is the bastardization of those laws and due process to the point where clear-cut cases of pre-meditated murder are allowed to escape or delay justice and avoid (again) *righteous* retribution because our society has grown squishy --and/or-- because we have allowed lawyers to pervert those laws and due-process to years-long, drawn-out legal mazes that (lucky for them) also serve to drive the law firm's revenue stream long and high.

Having said that, I'll entertain your point of view -- Other than an emotional appeal, go ahead and describe some circumstance or mitigating factor that should delay, lessen or avoid the lawful, righteous consequences for a mother who admitted to the pre-meditated strangling murder of her newborn baby and her subsequent disposal of the body by tossing it in the trash. Especially considering the resources (both private and government based) that are available to the mother in this day and age.

I'm all ears.

Or perhaps you might consider that assuming someone "really don’t belong in a country of laws and due process" based on a single comment in some small corner of the internet -- is itself more than just a bit hypocritical. Just sayin'...

Wendy Davis has raised more money that Greg Abbot. Obviously from outside the state.

I am as well, particularly given the number of couples that would give thanks to God to be able to adopt a baby.

“I didn’t see anything in the story regarding Planned Parenthood,”

Dude please! How many abortion horror stories do I have to post before you all realize that the horrors of abortion do not extend to just the four walls of an abortion clinic? The evil of abortion seeps into all our lives in one way or another. I do mean “evil”.

Now think of this. The stories I’ve posted about women aborting in clinic or hotel toilets? Word of that has gotten out. Women were told “not to look at ‘it’ and let the clinic people come clean it up”. So at Gosnell’s clinic we had babies born alive swimming in toilets. Do you understand this is becoming normal to them? Do you understand that over half of these women went back and did it again?

I see this story as the evil in the clinic going out to the streets and spreading. It will continue to spread until we outlaw abortion and close those damn clinics.

Greg Abbott apparently campaigns only in Austin; many thought Cucccinelli stayed in Richmond all through that campaign, but apparently that was not the case. At any rate, Abbott could be a weak candidate for governor. A lot have lost interest in Perry and may transfer that feeling to Davis. TX is full of liberals who have just been disorganized at the state level for many election cycles. They have been promising to reverse those defeats.

American women supposedly don’t decide to have abortions; it’s the men in their lives pushing them to do so.

I say this because most of San Antonio is full of liberals.

Was there any mention in medical journals of postpartum depression before the national media discovered the ailment?

“American women supposedly don’t decide to have abortions; it’s the men in their lives pushing them to do so.”

Pressure from husbands/boyfriends, family, coworkers. It is unreal how when a woman is pregnant she can find herself alone.

Was actually listening something on contraception tonight and it made me think about how society treats pregnancy/women.

If a woman goes to the doctor, even if she’s married and she has 3+ children they will give her information on birth control. Oh like she is a married woman who does not know what she is doing? Plus if she has more than 2 people don’t understand why she wants more unless the first two were say boys and she’s trying for a girl. I could not believe it but according to this documentary I listened to people will actually as “so you are going to stop having kids?” after the second or third child. Wow how rude is that?
In fact all of you go listen to her. Her name is Janet P Smith PhD on youtube.

This boggles my mind.

You are so right about co-workers. American women are always trying to stay on good term with those. They’ll even go in debt to keep up with the co-workers.

Things like that was so common in former Soviet Union since about 1970s that their courts seized to view it as murder and felony in general. Average punishment is up to 2 years suspended term to this day in Russia.

Funny thing is Russia is now getting morals and a spine while we are going down the toilet. It just sucks.
