Thank you. I had 6-8 extra IQ points I wasn’t doing anything with.
Seriously, how is this “show” even still on the air?
Thanks - I watch even the cringe inducing early “auditions” but I’m usually in delay so I can blow through the commercials so I don’t post much “live” but the comments are always interesting - well almost always ... Thanks again for your good work! ;-)
bump for later....
We always watch the first few episodes, some for humor but you can sense the excitement when a very talented nobody brings it. People who criticize this show have no soul.
If I want to sit and watch fags fawn over bad singers I’ll.... Well, I don’t.
I started liking the show less when three things happened. First, after a few years, it became less about "raw" talent. Contestants prep for this show so much that most now come across as kids playing a role. Second, it began feeling more "rigged". I thought Jordan Sparks, born into privilege, was one example (there are others) who got some advantage from their pedigree. Third, I really liked the Paula/Simon antagonism. They were both so extreme in opposite directions, together they often got it right, especially with Randy staying focused and sane.
I hope it comes back. It just isn't as much fun as a brand. They aren't evaluating raw talent anymore. All that being said, how can anyone deny that the number of talented singers who got their start on AI is impressive?
Thanks for the reminder.
Forgot it was even starting.
We don’t usually watch Idol, but a friend of our sons is going to be on this year. Very talented young lady named Ali Henderson. Our son shot this video of her singing, and he is her personal photographer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of2y9qiT5kA
Who are those people and what did they do with American Idol?
The are liars, they sit on a thrown of lies!
Looking forward to the new judges and “seeing” the old crowd back for another year:)

Say whaaaa? Idol started up?? Omg, I’m so happy to see you, Mister Jonny!! I shall have to watch yesterday’s show tonight along with tonight’s show and do a thread catch up.
Hope everyone has started the year well, but if you haven’t, like us, I hope it’s looking up from here. My husband’s 93 year old father passed at Christmas, and I was here with the kids while he went to the funeral back east. The day after he got back, he came down with what could only be the flu - influenza. Maybe h1n1, we will never know. But it’s a bad one. Sadly on the same day his 91 year old mom back east got it too. And it put her in the hospital by day 2. It was very touch and go with her but it seems she will make it. The day after, our teen son got it, then the older one, then the baby and I, and finally our elementary school boy. It felled us all. Some had flu shots and some did not. I had a very high blood level of vitamin d (99!) which did not protect me. Been sick a week and only 75% better! no strength. So 2014 can only get better for us!
Thanks for the invite. I was one of the few who liked JLo around here, so I am interested to see how this panel works.
I sure wished you all had made an X factor thread though I watched pretty much the whole season in about 3 weeks. One eppy a night. There was some MAD talent and the couple who won were so adorable some of you would have fallen for them like I did. (Did anyone besides me watch?). And Simon has already changed. He was absolutely delightful. Yes, Simon Cowell. When he got a bit snarky, miss lavato kept him in line. I never saw the man smile so much.
Evening Jonny
Thanks for hosting again this year. Looking forward to the
always great analysis and snarkathon...
Haley junior.
I’ve been a fan of Idol since it started. But I don’t think I’ll make it through this year’s J-Lo worship.
JLo forgot to put her pants on...
