A female driver was stunned after she looked up to see who had crashed into her car and saw there was a Chihuahua behind the wheel.

Tabitha Ormaechea was driving in Spokane, in the US state of Washington, when her tyre was hit by another vehicle.

When she looked to see who the offender was she was confused after spotting a pooch.

‘[There was] just a little dog up on the steering wheel peeking over, looking at me,’ she told KREM-TV.

‘I didn’t know if I was crazy, or if this little dog had taken a joyride.’

It turned out the car belonged to Jason Martinez and it had been commandeered (accidentally knocked out of gear) by Toby the Chihuahua, while his owner had popped into a shop.

Fortunately no-one was hurt.

Wrong! Lap dogs are WAY much better than cats. I never had a cat warn me that someone was at the door.

I have a totally blind 15 pound dog that is the best *watch” dog I have ever had.

I knew what had happened when I read the ‘headline’ on this thread.

Spokane dogs are pretty smart, and maybe a little weird.

But you didn’t know what was on the video, and you didn’t know if there might be something more interesting or more involved than a dog knocking a car out of gear.

This is why many of us don’t watch TV, the headline of this thread should have been dog knocks car out of gear, it rolls into another, and we don’t have any video of it.

The only thing that would have made it more interesting is if the dog had locked the doors before putting the car into drive. I have had my dogs lock me out of the car with the keys inside but the engine was not running, thankfully.
