.... they wouldn't do that to the citizens of the United States would they????
Can It Happen Again?
I was taught it in school in Texas, probably in Junior High.
Fast forward to December 2013:
Oh, you can’t say something that silly.
I spent a lot of time on the road traveling, and starving, starving men can do a lot, they don’t just lay down and die once they figure out that they are losing weight on a bad, inadequate diet.
It was taught in my HS, back in the old California.
ansel12, I can say it and did. And what I said is true. They were not starving. If they were starving, they would have died in the streets and camp of starvation. How many died of starvation, ansel12? Oh, that’s right, none!
This WWI bunch of demonstrators would have been mostly draftees.
Just plain silly, there can be a lot of starving, and a lot of activity before one dies, I know that for a fact.
Most people who have suffered starving, do not die, they eventually break the starvation cycle.
No, it certainly was not a violation of Posse Comitatus. On the contrary, the Federal Government had an affirmative obligation to use Federal troops to restore and maintain domestic peace when confronted by domestic violence used to intimidate the elected representatives of the Federal and local government. The civil government requested the support of Federal troops to quell lethal domestic violence that had already occurred, was threatened to occur, and defend against threats being made against the members of Congress and the Federal Administration. Although it has remained debatable about the extent to which the Communist Party was able to incite domestic violence, it is a fact the Communists were present and were participating in efforts to incite rebellion and domestic violence just as they had already done so in other nations among their veterans.
Constitution of the United States of America. Article. IV. Section. 4. The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.

True enough, but usually under the guise of the 'national Guard' and not US military forces.
This action was a huge stain on the careers of all those involved.
The genuine veterans who wanted acceleration of bond payments had for the most part cleared out and been replaced by communists looking for a fight.
The Left will never forgive MacArthur for rolling up the Leftists in 1932.
This is DC in 1971 when they arrested 13,000 Americans.
“While protesters listened to music, planned their actions or slept, the authorities quickly moved in 10,000 Federal troops to various locations in the D.C. area, including 4,000 paratroopers from the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division.
At one point, so many soldiers and marines were being moved into the area from bases along the East Coast, that troop transports were landing at the rate of one every three minutes at Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland, about 15 miles from the White House.
These troops were to back up the 5,100 D.C. Metroplitan Police and 2,000 D.C. National Guard troops that were already on the streets.”
“Just plain silly, there can be a lot of starving, and a lot of activity before one dies, I know that for a fact.”
When you post the full list of all those Bonus Army men who starved to death in D.C. I’ll believe it. Otherwise, you’re wasting my time.
“Most people who have suffered starving, do not die, they eventually break the starvation cycle.”
None of them were starving. Hungry at times, maybe, but not starving. Produce some evidence for your claims or shut up.
DC doesn't have a national guard.
Rather than merely repeat that, show us the source that details how the demonstrators had left town and had been replaced by non-veteran demonstrators, and can tell us why we never knew it.
Yeah, the bias is apparent.
What is the first thing the narrator says? That the vets would be paid "sometime in the future." Suggesting the bonus was based on a very iffy, uncertain sort of deal; that the vets were being played. In fact, the redemption was to be on a date certain in 1945.
Of course, many vets were flat broke and desperate and assembled in an effort to convince the government to grant relief a man has to do what a man has to do. Undoubtedly, there were agitators with a different agenda. And that may be an important lesson for todays circumstances.
Go Colts!
Hunger is a symptom of starvation, if you want to reveal some truth that disagrees with the history, then YOU need to show that none of them were suffering routine hunger and inadequate diets.
Then some of us can tell you about our families who were suffering hunger and inadequate diets, and starvation during that time, and they were not on the road to DC to protest, which makes for a much more difficult existence for someone desperately lacking in means.
But none the less, calling out US troops against civilians is reprehensible.
ansel12, I have always known that you are something of a dumbass. If you can’t post any evidence that these men were starving - such as posting about men dying of starvation - then you are simply wrong. You have every right to continue to be a dumbass. It’s what you’re good at. What you’re not good at is proving your claim that they were starving. I’ll say it again: put up or shut up.
When you fail - and we both know you will - we’ll see who was right all along and how you were just a dumbass as usual.

What you never heard of the bonus march?
