Good for Baseball, and good the Yankees. I assume they don’t have to pay him now.

That’s what I was wondering, if they have to keep paying.
Normally, I would think that this would amount to a violation of some sort of moral standards clause or whatever.

But I bet he’s got some pretty high priced legal staff that tweaked some of that stuff in his favor.

I have zero respect for the dude since he left the Mariners, so no skin off my nose.

I suspect he's been using since his Texas Ranger days.....he was a good player but a skinny player for the Mariners...the growth in his physical size in those years is very telling.....

I truly detest the man and his ilk....

but now my never worn Seattle Mariner shirt with Pay rods picture on it will be worth even more!

Isn’t this a victory A-Rod? He’s only getting a little over a year suspension? He still has 3 years on his contract after that. Could he have done any better than this?

For one year any way. Screw the Yankees. I'm no fan of AROD but The Yankees knew all about this issue when they traded for him. They had a chance to walk away from him when he opted out of his contract a few years ago but the team chose to pay him even more money. Now the Yankees are crying about all the money they are paying him and have to pay him as his skills rapidly diminish. The team is trying everything they can not to pay him what they legally owe him. They new perfectly well what they were doing when they signed him to that big deal.
