Some of those shots were just stunning. Others were very sad: I mean, how can anyone live in Shanghai? Or Mexico City? Or Mogadishu? Or Moscow?

“Mexico City looks like a trash dump.”
That’s because it is one. And they are exporting it here.

Thanks for posting!
For 40+ years I've been trying to describe to my wife the beauty of new rice fields in Vietnam in the early morning.
This helps.

Interesting.
Most just remind me why I despise cities and made my skin crawl thinking about being trapped down there.
The Norway shot was nice, but I hate cold.

Bern looks nice And Vancouver.
Problem is, you have to live down there, not up here with the view.

Bookmark for later.
Having lived in San Francisco the first 23 years of my life, I have to identify that Photo. Initially, I'm guessing the Sunset or Richmond district... but where?

satellite image is fun, but I really liked Vietnam. Mexico City made me feel claustrophic, Moscow would be fun to explore, and Shanghai would be avoided at all costs. Brother-in-law is from Vancouver so I might go there on my way to Alaska.

I did not mind the smell of the paddies near as much as the smell of the burning heads (latrines) back in the rear areas.

I’m not from SFO (only been there twice), but I did look on the photographer’s Flickr page and he says this is “N Judah” in SFO. Google Earth says that Judah St. is just south of Golden Gate Park (not sure what district that’s in). Here’s the photographer’s site if you’d like to look at his other SFO stuff: http://www.flickr.com/photos/csaulit/6821127197/lightbox/
