I have saved toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls for the garden and other stuff. I especeially like to use them for helping to organize extension cords.

What you do is cut off a piece of the stem, making sure to have a joint or two. Pick off the lower leaves, and keep around 3 to 5 leaves at the top. Use some root powder as directed, and put the stem into a pot filled with rooting medium. Keep it moist but not drenched, and new roots will grow.

Paper rolls to use for organizing extension cords had never occurred to me. You have a wealth of “how tos” I don't have.

I just copied your info. on getting a cutting, BUT WHAT IS ROOT POWDER? I need to read that info. again, must have missed that part. I've been copying, pasting, and printing today, plus I wrote a paper explaining why all males and females act like they do - that took a little time.

About the cutting: After I do the cut and use the powder whatever that is (and how do you use it by the way), and put it in the medium, WHERE DO I PUT IT? Do I need to wait to do this until it is warm outside and then leave it outside? I don't have a sunny window in this townhouse.

I know I ask specific questions, but that way I don't screw up.
