Would need a lot of water to earn a full Darwin, but Honorable Mentions to the injured.

Matt Pearce, the reporter from the LA Times who collated the tweets, said: I think weve all learned a very important lesson today.Pardon my "french", but I learned quite early that you "don't piss into the wind!"

How silly people are! My daughter did the bubble thing, I guess that went OK.
To try this in Florida is just dumb, I don’t think it works in 20 degree weather, it’s got to be a lot colder than that.

California will make this stunt a felony next January 1st. You wait.

They say you could learn about the law of inertia by running out onto the freeway, or gravity, by jumping off a building, but I would never think of doing it.

The effect is even more educational if you spread out the boiling water with a hand grenade.

The LA Times found that at least 50 people on social media complained that they or their friends were scalded by hot water on Monday and Tuesday. "Best investigative reporting on the planet. But go ahead, read the New York Times if you want. They get lucky sometimes."

So my brother decides to be cool and throw boiling water in the air and watch it freeze and ends up in the hospital with a 3rd degree burn.
If that doesn't prove anthropogenic global warming, nothing ever will.

My humble prediction for the coming year:
Boiling water can cause serious injury. The government, once aware of this fact, will take action to ban boiling water. It will receive bi-partisan support in Congress.
