Former U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell praised the soon-to-be released film Lone Survivor on the Glenn Beck Program Wednesday, saying the actors portray the guys brilliantly.
The film is based on the true events chronicled by Luttrell in Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10.
Asked to summarize what happened for the few in the audience who dont already know the story, Luttrell said that in Afghanistan in 2005, 19 of us went in, and then five days later, I made it out.

Read the book. Easy to talk like you would make the correct decision in their shoes.
Classless man.
Saw the movie tonight. It was an awesome movie that everyone (except younger kids due to violence and cursing) should see to get an idea of what our soldiers go through. The ROE need to be reviewed and we need to come up with better comms for our people. To those who did or are serving, thank you for your service.
When Marcus was having difficulties adjusting after his return, and some punk shot his dog, Govenor Rick Perry brought him to his ranch and gave him a place to stay and recover away from the press.
I recall that episode.
Happens all the time in the military. In WW2 my grandfather’s entire unit was wiped out by German 88’s even though commanders new what was waiting at the treeline for them. They played politics and wanted to risk the damage. They had orders so they obeyed.
I’m thinkin’ they haven’t a clue. They’re just lucky that the cops got to them before Marcus. After his experience in ‘ghanistan, he probably wasn’t to worried about the punks and their threats.
Must be nice sitting behind your computer typing these responses of how “smart” you’d be...
Sorry, but the guy ignored his training.
In military tactics, extraction (also exfiltration or exfil), is the process of removing personnel when it is considered imperative that they be immediately relocated out of a hostile environment and taken to a secure area.
There are primarily two kinds of extraction:
Hostile: The subject involved is unwilling and is being moved by forceful coercion with the expectation of resistance. Essentially, it is kidnapping by military or intelligence forces.
Friendly: The subject involved is willing and is expected to cooperate with the personnel in the operation.

Go say it to him then. Tell him He screwed up. That you would have done the right thing in his place. Please take video of this exchange. Shall be fun to watch.
