Former U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell praised the soon-to-be released film Lone Survivor on the Glenn Beck Program Wednesday, saying the actors portray the guys brilliantly.
The film is based on the true events chronicled by Luttrell in Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10.
Asked to summarize what happened for the few in the audience who dont already know the story, Luttrell said that in Afghanistan in 2005, 19 of us went in, and then five days later, I made it out.

After reading the book a year or two ago, I’ve been waiting for this movie, and I never go to the movies.
I was wondering what kind of movie this would be. Don’t want to go see it if its just another of Hollywierd’s anti-American productions.
Rule #1 when you are compromised on a mission. Immediate exfil
Rule #2 when comms fail. Immediate exfil
When 300 terrorists are hunting you down and you have no QRF, air support or exfil plan - see rule#1 and rule#2.
I saw an interview with the director,Peter Berg, he did the right thing.
#Can'tWaitToSeeIt
I've seen it three times, and I thought it was a really good movie. The only problem I had with it was that every time they got shot , covering the wound with dirt seemed to magically stop all bleeding.
Question??? How can you have seen the movie 3 times when it has not been released??
When is this movie going to be released? I ususally wait til a movie is available on demand via cable, but this looks like a worthwhile exception.
I believe tomorrow - January 10.
I watch it on the internet.
I just bought the book from iTunes/iBooks for $3.99. Reading it on my iPad now and planning on going to the movie next weekend! Lutrell is on the Beck show right now.
We are going to risk going out to the theatre to see it this weekend...
hear it’s worth it....
Great movie.
Watch for Marcus in a cameo role. Several instances.
Speaking lines and all.
C
I have seen this movie, it is not anti-American.
I'm impressed, you're obviously an ex-seal too..........I salute you and thank you for your service!
It opened last night at our local theater, and I must say I was pissed the entire time while watching it. One guy’s piss poor decision led to the deaths of 20+ people. I am not even trained nor a soldier but who on earth cuts enemies and lets them leave, only to come back with guns. One of them had a com device, most likely Taliban, and the one approx. 20 yo kid looked like a soldier to all of the guys.
The lone survivor was an idiot. I believe he is telling this story simply to assuage his guilt.
I saw the movie last week—excellent movie. I highly recommend it.
Tissue required? Box or just one of those carry around little packs.
