What Type of Person Does This?

Posted on 01/06/2014 10:02:58 PM PST by GreyHoundSailor

To the human scum who discarded your scared, emaciated, beautiful female dog on a back road in the middle of winter: I discovered her this afternoon and carried her into our house, placing her on a blanket near our wood stove. She drank some water and ate a bit of food, thumped her huge bushy tail on the floor a few times while I stroked her head, curled up and fell asleep. Her huge sad eyes told me she'd probably never heard a kind word in her short life. Two hours later she was gone. We would have gladly adopted her if you'd had the courage to knock on our door to tell us you didn't want her anymore. I'm disgusted to think you oxygen thieves live somewhere close to me.

It was obvious she had worn a collar for quite some time, but there wasn’t one when we found her - apologies for not mentioning that. It was one of the things that made us think she’d been dumped.

If you’re a dog lover—or just like dogs— one of the saddest videos on youtube. But affirming in its own way:

What type of person does this?

Liberals.

They promote the killing of babies without blinking an eye. Why would they give a care about a dog?

Thank you for giving that poor animal a few hours of love and care.

You certainly did the right thing. Bless you!

We had a cat I grew up with that ran away. Years later on a January day, he came back! He looked old and worn, but I knew George and he knew me. Though he slept a lot, it was bit like old times for about a week. One day he meowed to be let out, walked off into the cold, and I never saw him again.

I still miss that old cat!

Have a vet check for a microchip. I know we took our dachshund’s collar off to ease her discomfort. Again, not saying you’re not right, as the scenario you describe is all too common; I’m just suggesting there’s room for doubt.

Sad. God bless you for providing aid, comfort, and compassion to an innocent creature in its final hours. I have saved a few myself and have failed to save a few as well. We do what we can.

Don’t know the temp situation at your local, but often if you warm a dog too fast they just pass on. I have done it, so I know.

We just rescued a 1 1/2 year old German Sheppard/Aussie Sheppard mix.

She had been kept in a cage in a back yard at the base of a hill and when it rained a torrent of water would sweep through her kennel. The owner was told to rectify the situation but did not so Animal Control took her and the county court took away ownership. We got her about a week after the court ruling.

She was skinny and had one broken canine tooth and an infected tooth. We had the dental work done and she is getting good food and has gained about 10 pounds since the end of October when she came into our family. She is a kind and gentle dog and is starved for affection, which we give to her constantly.

We firmly believe that rescue dogs know they are getting a good family and show their love and gratitude. We could never part with our wonderful new addition to our “pack.”

Jesus.

We literally bankrupted ourselves vainly trying to save ‘Halla.

I don’t understand people.

Maybe I don’t want to understand people.

"I don’t understand people. Maybe I don’t want to understand people."

I've been told by some folks who know me that I can read their minds. I know from my years in various businesses that I can, for the most part.

I'm pretty sure I can read animals too.

Just trust me on this. You're 100% right when you say you don't want to understand people. Animals (especially dogs) are a lot more pure and simple.

Of course there are exceptions in every group. But I've met a lot more mean people than mean dogs. And the mean dogs I've met, usually it was a person that made them that way.

I’ve known white people to be just as rotten. I once had a girlfriend who dumped an older cat “she loved” in the woods because the woman had gotten pregnant and heard she could get toxiplasmosis from the cat litter. She said, oh, she’ll be fine, someone will take her in, and she can kill mice to eat.

I was cruel enough to tell her she probably painfully killed her trusting cat, and there were myriad things she could have done other than that.

I know what you mean. I was in a really tight spot about 15 years ago and I had to let teeth rot in my head so that I could pay for an operation for my dog!

City people dump dogs and cats in the country all the time.
One of my friends even found a baby hoot owl just standing by the road where someone had dumped it one day, and it was about three or four months old.
She took it to a vet where he took care of it and gave it to a zoo.
But these dumped animals really have a hard time, and are often struck by cars or eaten by other animals, such as bobcats, and wild dogs.
They get eaten up with ticks and fleas, and are struck with rocks and sticks as home owners drive off these unwanted animals from their own pets, as they try to steal food.

It would be more humane for people to take their unwanted pets to the pound, or put them down, themselves, especially in this cold.

How dare they do this to their own animals.

People?

Damn near every day.
