The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night 24-22. The Cowboys starting quarterback, Tony Romo, was recuperating at home following back surgery, and backup quarterback Kyle Orton was at the Dallas helm. The Cowboys had a chance to regain the lead on their final drive of the game when Orton threw an interception...
Football fans, Dallas and otherwise, elevated Orton to instant Romo status:
I’m an Eagles fan. I knew they were going to get a game from the Cowboys. Say what you will about that “last ranked defense”, they gave Chip Kelly and Foles nightmares this season.
Until they get that inbred retard extra-chromosome Arkansas Hillbilly Jerry Jones to sell the team, you’ll keep seeing 8-8 teams forever.
Yeah, well Cris Collinsworthless was apocalyptic on anything that didn't go the Cowboys' way...
Not sure who was more disappointed in the Cowboy loss - Orton or Collinsworthless.
I did enjoy the cut to Jerry Jones cursing when Orton got intercepted... that was sweet.
Blah blah blah Dallas Sucks. Tom Landry was a fine man and coach and I am an Iggles fan. Your problem is Jerry Jones. He sucks worse!
Are you kidding me? The Cowboys' defense played their asses off. You're talking about a defense that resembled a replacement team from 1987, with all of the guys they literally picked up off the streets, and they played as well against Philly as any defense has over the past 8 weeks.
“I did enjoy the cut to Jerry Jones cursing when Orton got intercepted... that was sweet.”
On that one I couldn’t even see his lips and I could read them. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving owner this side of D.C..
But they lost!
The defense gave them every chance to win the game.
The only thing that makes me feel better about Jerry Jones...
Daniel Snyder.
...Jimmy Haslem is trying hard though.
A saying Barry Switzer took to heart...
They scored a TD in that series, the loss of down was irrelevant.
Orton played an amazing game considering he took no reps in practice the entire year except for the five days before that game.
The only decent players left are from Bill Parcells.
He won't fire the worse coach in the NFL
I agree! I am sick of listening to people who, obviously of the “Arm Chair” type unload against Tony Romo. He has been, consistently one of the best QB’s in the, does the most with very little and was undrafted. He also has a great work ethic. The sheeple just follow the medias lead and it is tiresome to watch. The truth about Romo can be found below.

The disgust should have been directed at the sleepy Cowboy booth and coaches, oblivious to the clock and the referee snafu, prior to the interception. I dont know if any of these guys have even yet noticed it.

Exactly right, Rita! ........Dallas was in position to probably take the lead near the end of the game. The clock operator reset the play clock at 25 instead of the proper 40 seconds. That loss of 15 seconds resulted in Dallas being called for delay of game and the penalty pushed them into a longer yardage that led to the bad pass. ......The Officials didn’t even notice the clock had been reset incorrectly. They essentially “gave” the game to Philly.
Hmmm... After reading through the comments here, I may have to correct what I posted in #35.
I might have made a mistake by thinking the clock fiasco was on the last Dallas possession instead of the previous one.
I was so chapped near the end of the game that I turned it off after that interception and haven’t watched or listened to any recaps or replays of the game.
btw... Few QBs or Coaches could have had as successful a season as Romo and Garrett (and Orton Sunday), with a team devastated by injuries like the Cowboys had throughout the season.
I am a Giants fan living in FTW. Romo’s stats can tell whatever story you want them to tell....perception is reality and the reality is Romo makes more than his share of boneheaded plays late in games ...that cost them games ....for a guy who you are paying 109 million to.
A friend of mine who is a Dallas fan see’s it the same as you but he also texts me and says, “so, is this where Romo blows it?”....I just laugh and say “usually” and then viola...he makes one of his boneheaded plays and proves me right. Bottom line is he did not throw enough to Dez this year and if he would have connected with Witten like Orton did on Sunday the cowboys would have won the division by 3 games. Bottom line...if Romo comes back off this surgery 100%, Dez and Witten have big years and Murray rushes for 1300 yards.....you will be 8-8 next year and Garrett will be fired....just how I see it, take a look at their schedule next year....brutal!
They lost a down to someone else’s error. That is never irrelevant and it should never have happened. It is a legitimate gripe.
It had nothing to do with them losing the game.
I am talking about a penalty that should not have happened, I was not talking about the drive or game.
