Some churches are dropping their sponsorship of Scout units because of the new policy... But massive defections haven’t materialized...

They will regret this... because the real target IS the churches. Watch what happens when some parent or leader tells a kid he is wrong to be gay... or that it's sinful. Not only will the parent/leader be sued, but the scout troop and the church that sponsors them will be as well. The right of association is no longer a defense, because it was relinquished by the BSA and ratified by sponsors by implication for NOT disassociating.

I’ve thought that the idea of gay boy scouts doesn’t make sense. My view is that we’re talking about boys and young men, who are still growing and maturing. I will be called homophobic by some, but, I don’t see how young people can know for sure that they are gay at a young age.

And since scouting has nothing to do with sexuality anyway, I never thought this new policy made sense. It’s all about political correctness, it’s all about caving in to pressure groups who want to influence impressionable children.

If someone turns 18 and is an adult, and feels gay, they can head on down to The Castro and other such places and explore that to their hearts content. In my opinion, this subject has no place among children in the first place.
