A Parent Was Worried About How the Dog Would React to Newborn Baby

It can be an unsettling thing, introducing a pet to a newborn baby. Though it’s extremely rare, there have been horror stories of dogs attacking unfamiliar newborns.

In a Sunday post, Reddit user banpeiSF said he was a little worried about his Corgi, Wilbur, meeting the family’s newborn baby. However, his concerns turned out to be completely unwarranted.

In fact, the two have seemingly become inseparable. Take a look (captions via Reddit):

My niece learned to walk by pulling up on my brother’s pit bull. One day he walked off and left her standing there and she followed him.

Long ago I paid medical claims for a living. I had several claims where children were bitten in the face and hands from protecting their face. It always ticked me off when the same family would have a second bite down the line. If it had been my dog, it would have been immediately put to sleep.

“A song about what can happen when you trust your baby to a dog.”

That theme apparently goes back many hundreds of years. I read a story titled “Gelert, The King’s Hound”, in the book “True Dog Stories” by Albert Payson Terhune, 1936.

Dobermanns tend to station themselves in the nursery and not allow anyone to pass...sometimes including the parents.

Dogs are pack animals and they always know who the leader of the pack is. Because of all the attention a new baby receives the dog sees the baby as the new leader of the pack and responds accordingly. At least, that was what the article said.

Shouting is a liberal trait and removes all validity from your post.

Being older does give reason for less clear eyesight. It is much easier to read caps and only adds emphasis to comments. I am not intending to shout. Do not read what does not reach your standards.

All persons do not all fall into the same vision arena for seeing clearly.

One thing for SURE IS I AM CONSERVATIVE.

It is much easier to read caps

I suggest a larger font.

and only adds emphasis to comments.

No it doesn't.

I am not intending to shout.

Nonetheless that is what you are doing.

Do not read what does not reach your standards.

Thank you but I'll choose to read what I wish and will interpret said based on the common understanding of language, grammar and etiquette.

All persons do not all fall into the same vision arena for seeing clearly.

Glasses and/or a larger font (see above) is the answer.

One thing for SURE IS I AM CONSERVATIVE.

Then you shouldn't have to shout it as I stated earlier shouting is a liberal trait. Engage one in discussion and you will soon discover I am correct.

Finally, notice we are not discussing your comment which I tend to agree with but your delivery muted the content.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

No one appointed you monitor.

Being tacky is not the way to encourage change or compliance.

Be as sweet as you are ,,, it will have a positive result or usually does.

God bless us everyone
Happy New Year!
