The literal simplest meaning of "Christmas" = Christ as the "Sent One." The Mormon Church stresses Joseph Smith as key "Sent One":
1862 (July 13) [Quote republished by church in 1925] | Brigham Young: "I have taught for thirty years, and still teach, that he that believeth in his heart and confesseth with his mouth that Jesus is the Christ and that Joseph Smith is his Prophet to this generation, is of God; and he that confesseth not that Jesus has come in the flesh and SENT Joseph Smith with the fulness of the Gospel to this generation, is not of God, but is antichrist. All who confess that Joseph Smith is SENT of God in the latter days, to lay the foundation of his everlasting kingdom no more to be thrown down, and will continue to keep his commandments, are born of God" | Journal of Discourses Vol. 9 |
1994 (June) | Official Lds Church Magazine re: Joseph Smith "shed[ding] his blood in order that the final testament, the reestablishment of the new covenant, might be in full effect.": "As suggested earlier, the life of Joseph Smith was in some degree patterned after that of his Master, Jesus Christ. That pattern holds true even when extended to its tragic conclusion. Like his Master, Joseph Smith also shed his blood in order that the final testament, the reestablishment of the new covenant, might be in full effect ... Thus, to bear witness of Joseph Smith is to bear witness of Jesus Christ, who SENT him, in the same way that a testimony of Christ also implies clearly a testimony of the Eternal Father, who sent Him. On the other hand, to deny Joseph Smith outrightto deny the spiritual impressions which attest to his prophetic assignmentis to deny the Lord, who sent him." | Lds Church Magazine Ensign |

“{And here we thought you might be interested in seeking the truth}”
The truth is, you are obsessed.

Hey, the truth is...
...if FR boasted of a Mormon who quoted Christian leaders and gave links to their Web sites and "Free press" to their publications & books...
...THOUSANDS of times every year...
...I'd love it!!!!
I'd commend him/her.
I'd appreciate him/her.
For some reason, Mormons like you just don't seem to appreciate the reversal of that.
Why is that?
Are you truly embarrassed & shamed over what many of your leaders say? And that those comments have sneak beyond the PR gatekeepers and are eked out to the light of day?
Why is it we don't see ANY -- and I mean ANY-- "Amens" from grassroots Mormons when their leaders are cited on FR pages???
of course if you would do a little original language research you would find that your smugness is misplaced
not in other words . I carry the message by doing what God would have me do not ranting on FR about other people
“For some reason, Mormons like you just don’t seem to appreciate the reversal of that. “
I am not and have never been a Mormon, so your mindreading missed the mark. Not only that, you are still obsessed.

Christians rant about false religious systems as commanded by God. You should convert to Christianity and join us. It’s quite a worthwhile activity.
2Co 11:12 And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.
2Co 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

Yes, excellent citations & invitation to Nifster!
I presume, then, Nifster, based upon your comments that you'll not only scold the apostle Paul (above verses cited by Greetings_puny_humans) upon a heavenly arrival, but the apostle John as well???
3rd John as he "ranted" about Diotrephes for three Biblical verses before commending Demetrius:
9 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. 10 So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church. 11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius is well spoken of by everyoneand even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
I'm telling you: If Christians adapted your recommendations as applied to the political arena, we'd be 100% sitting ducks!
But, hey, go ahead Nifster: Start defending all those critiques of Muslims on FR (if you have any shred of consistency at all); and then you can start quoting "turn the other cheek" to all of the critics of Obama & other Democrats.
(That'll win ya plenty of FR brownie points with other posters!)
Good!
Do NOT rant about 'people'; but RANT against the MESSAGE that these 'people' are delivering!
