While there’s no way to confirm hard numbers, it seems thousands of users if not more, are leaving the Huffington Post (also known as HuffPost) and its previously robust community because of the newly introduced comment system.
The new system requires people to sign in through Facebook if they want to comment on any of the stories. It also requires Facebook verification, which requires a cell phone number.

That quote is crap and he knows it. Their legions of censors delete posts from the more conservative of us on a regular basis.
They allow their liberal posters to spew as the please, using catchphrases such as monkey-Bush, Bush-Hitler, Teabagger, ect. If a conservative uses any thing to put their messiah, the man behind the curtain, the Great and Wonderful OZbama (I would be deleted for that), in a bad light you get the boot. Any derivative of Liberal like libnut, libtard, Dimocrap, ect, is booted. Republicants, Repugnicans, all good. Obumble, Odumble, booted.
No matter what spin they put on it, Huff-N-Puff, as I refer to it, is an extremely radical liberal ultra-left leaning site, permeated with a wide range of America haters who live in a universe totally bereft of commonsense.
All in all I love to go there just to confront their unbelievable naivety with facts and proof. It really confuses then and sometimes a head might explode. It's fun.
They sometimes require a "mobile" phone number to send a verification code to. But it doesn't really have to be a mobile number, any real number you have access to will do.
There may have been an attempt st Newsbusters to use facebook for posting but there comments are now Disqus.

Similarly, they outsource the login process to Facebook.
