No, you are both wrong. I took my first girlfriend to see them, as a double feature matinee, during winter vacation.
Those hours in a darkened theater were among the most entertaining of my life, up to that point :)
Billy Jack, RIP.
One Tin Soldier rides away...
He made a whole series of Billy Jack stinkers. He spent very little money on them, but did heavy marketing, and apparently made a fortune. I think I remember the ads where they interviewed people coming out of the theater telling the interviewer how great the movie was.
I recall seeing the microphone in one scene of Billy Jack when it played in the theater.
Abe Vigoda is alive, but Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
From what I remember, all of his movies have been stinkers.
Born Losers
Billy Jack
The Return of Billy Jack
The Master Gunfighter
Billy Jack goes to Washington.
I’ve only seen Born Losers on TV, and had kin who saw the others and thought they were great, because he did whoopa$$ on various evil law enforcement people while protecting Indians and hippies.
That’s funny. I remember seeing something in a hobbit movie that should not have been there. I can’t remember exactly what it was but I’ll think on it. :)
Only can find the “Billy Paul” sketch as a transcript.

The part of he sketch where “Billy Paul” kicks open the door only to have it swing closed back in his face was comedy gold. You could tell that the door was supposed to stay open but something went wrong. Without missing a beat Simon acted like it was a well rehearsed bit. I don’t think they could have got the timing that perfect on live TV if they rehearsed it 100 times.
Best line of the day - thanks !
I liked the way Skeeter Davis did that song. She did not try to hippie it up like they did in the movie.
“..Ahnd they keeled the mon-tain peepul...
Skeeter sang it straight.
Pete Seeger and Lawrence Ferlinghetti? Oh, those two liberals can go anytime they like.
The Master Gunfighter was on yesterday - costarred Barbara Carrera so it wasn’t all bad.
Isn’t Pete Seeger a commie bastard? Only one good variety
of them, those who have achieved room temp.
O/T But what was Tom Laughlin's politics?
He seemed all over the map. Never figured him out.
The lefty version of Chuck Norris, without the nads of course
