Yep. The Southern Comfort eggnog is a decent commercial eggnog.

Dopey name for it, isn’t it? It’s difficult to pronounce and spell. I understand it’s the name of the family who founded the company (I assume), but it isn’t smart marketing.
Straight bourbon enjoyment is an art form. It’s not a diet coke, I can’t stand soft drinks or sweet tea. It might require being at least part Irish. In my case, I am 3/4 Irish and 1/4 Cherokee. I never read Playboy but by the time I joined the USAF in 1972 at 18 years of age, I new how to sip bourbon and when to stop.
Out here in taxifornia I just picked up some Knudsen eggnog, pretty tasty even before the home additives. I have found that the only Alt Dena nog is that wussified low fat, low enjoyment crud.
All of our favorite food businesses up here in NorCal have family names - Draeger's Market, Martinelli's Apple Cider, DeMartini Orchard Kozy Brothers, Olson's Cherries. Many of the namesakes work at the stores and it gives it a real family connection to us shoppers.
Broguiere's Farm Fresh Dairy - Family owned & operated since 1920. Ernest Broguiere, a French immigrant from the Alps, began the dairy by purchasing a lemon grove on Maple Avenue. When the lemon business failed to take off, he bought a Holstein cow and several hundred glass bottles and started selling milk. Maybe you should consult to the Broguiere's and suggest they change their name to Smith or Jones.

‘Dopey’ only because it makes it more difficult to sell. It’s not a name many people can pronounce or spell. Especially in the age of the internet, not knowing how to properly spell a product’s name makes it harder to find. Not knowing how to pronounce it makes it more difficult to ask for or talk about and recommend to others.
All true. But the company is almost 100 years old. Changing now wouldn’t be a good idea...too much emotional attachment by customers.

I always liked Barbers and Sealtest. I usually only buy it after Christmas when they often cut it to less than half price.
...however, they can “re-invent” their egg nog sort of speak with some new catchy, simpler name adding that it’s from...them. Put it prominently on the label, mention it in commercials, etc. Notice I’ve forgotten how to spell it already! (”them”) :)
Perhaps for the same reasons people prefer to eat out or eat tv dinners. Whoever does the cooking in the house isn't so good at it. :)

I love eggnog in coffee... I always remember Dave Barry’s column on Christmas or Thanksgiving, talking about his Aunt’s eggnog, ‘who for God’s sake the recipe should never fall into the hands of the Russians’...
How is it a dairy if they got rid of the cows?
A couple of times I’ve bought Lactaid brand eggnog. I think it’s pretty good. It’s lactose-free; the lactose has been broken down into simpler sugars, which aren’t good for a diabetic like me, but at least there’s no lactose to irritate my GI tract. A little expensive, but tastes good to me. It’s very sweet.
