It was used my Amundson, I think, to travel the antarctic
Why would a Nat Geo photographer ever agree to take a staged picture.
1. You assumed the photographer was Nat Geo staff
2. Absent text you assumed the photo was sympathetic to the plight off border agents.. The post attributes photo circa 1939. What was happening in the world then. Where did Trotsky run to when forced into exile? Left wingers had long be seeking open borders and agri business was all for it.
3. That National Geographic has any integrity left. They finally admitted, nay bragged, about photo shopping the great pyramids for issue cover shot.
NG started their leftward journey in the early seventies. Dropped our subscription at that time, which was started in 1954.
I’m not a BP Agent but it appears it is a line uniform (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/19/us/19patrol.html?_r=0, http://www.teaparty.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/20090108_102308_border1.jpg, http://hometestingblog.testcountry.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Border-Patrol-drug-arrest.jpg, ).
If those are not line uniforms, what would be a line uniform about, what, 50-yrs ago or better. Thanks.

(”reenactment” is a key-word associated with this picture).
Staged.
Did it float? How many people would it carry? It sure looks cool.
I hear Obama gave this guy citizenship.
Interesting
Why are they not wailing on his legs with their night sticks and why are they pulling him INTO the USA?
Who’s that pulling the Mexican back?
John Boehner’s father or Nancy Peolisi’s?
Maybe this is where the problem started. Should’ve just let the guy go.
it probable floated a little, but didnt have propellers
You don’t need props for what I would use it for. Just the ability for it to float short distances crossing streams and creeks. 200 ft without the engine choking or the darn thing sinking. 6 ft to 10 ft of water depth at most.
Nothing unusual there. That’s how our DHS is acting today.
I think it is staged. I have driven along that part of the border. There was a rusty falling down barbed wire fence that looked like it had been built before 1939.
What is the structure on the lower right of the picture?
? I’m talking with RaceBannon about the vehicle in post 16.
Link at #22 gives info on the photo, it was faked.
Someone needs to photoshop that sign with democrats and republicans vs Mexico and USA ....
Or senate and house maybe .....:o)
That’s what I thought. Plus that Mexican sitting doesn’t look to be exerting himself.
