"Somebody picked the wrong girl."
You'd think the party that claims to support strong, independent women would love her. OK, no you wouldn't. Because they don't. The party in question loves a woman who knows where to go to get government benefits. A woman like this is doing it all wrong:
actually a lot more dramatic and intense than you might have expected. Every time she goes back to the couch (what is she watching, by the way?) and sits down, only to hear that ominous knock on the door once again, you're really starting to get concerned that the perp might get in before she's armed and ready.

The LCI on the Taurus is much more obvious both visibly and palpably. The LCI on the Glock is barely noticeable, especially to a beginner. There’s really no arguing this.

Whatever.
I like my Glock. Mrs. Tick likes *her* Glock. We are of above average intelligence and have zero issues whatsoever with the way Glock does things.
The proper handgun for an individual is the one that fits the individual.
I will say this: the cure for “newbie” is “practice and get proficient”.
The cure for “newbie” is NOT “you’re a newbie so let me omnisciently dictate to you what features you MUST have”.
So on that we disagree.
I like the Springfield XDs.
Let me go ahead and "dictate" to a newbie. For a newbie who is looking for a utility weapon for a range of self defense including conceal carry and home defense... I always recommend the following:
.357 hammerless, DAO, 2" barrel (Snubby) revolver. It can be loaded with .38s, it is easy to conceal, it will never jamb (limp wristing), if one doesn't shoot, squeeze again, no hammer won't catch on draw, DAO (Double action only) makes for a long strong trigger pull, easy to train on, easy maintenance and best reliability (comparatively and generally speaking).
..with a laser on the grip...
