The authors found that Bond, as depicted in 14 classic Ian Fleming novels, drinks more than four times the limit recommended for British men.Oh please, Save us nanny state!
To: grundle
It is ironic that all of the actors who played him in the movies are still alive

The British Journal recommends 7 shaken-not-stirred Vodka Martinis a week for men. Thats plenty, IMO.

Yeah, that probably has something to do with lack of dental hygiene, what is it with europeans and bad teeth?...............never understood that. maybe it's the result of their great national health care.

Funny how those fictional characters have more capacity than us mortals....
Good thing the article was considered “tongue in cheek”
Written at a time when capacity was manly....by an author who also penned “Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang”

But Daniel Craig is showing his age more than the others.
Connery and Moore are both in their 80’s and look good for their ages. Craig is starting to get the look in his skin and eyes, of someone who does drink and smoke a lot.

I grew up in an Old NE Industrial city and we drank a lot by our standards, beer was cheap and plentiful.
Years later I was sent to England to work on a project, THEY drink. Try a crate of Newsy Browns, 20 ounce pints, at double the alcohol content on a Friday night, 240 oz of high test. We were pikers.

Perhaps they are 'walking embalmed' with all the alcohol consumed

At least in the books, Bond never expected to live very long anyway. The drinking and smoking were just small pleasures on the road to finally being shot.

James Bond had always seemed like a nasty old man to me. Watching a man who seems to be about 75 romancing 18 year old girls and beating up various bad guys is not my idea of a pleasant experience. I have to say that if nasty old secret agents are your thing you need to watch Where the Spies Are, a 1960s movie starring David Niven. Mr. Niven looks to be about 97 and his lovin' and fightin' abilities take a back seat to no man's.
