The University of Texas at Austin is suing ONeal to try to gain possession of the portrait. Fawcett left all her artwork to the school and it claims ONeal improperly took it from her condo days after her death.
The Oscar-nominated actor took the stand for the second time in the trial to assert his ownership of the portrait and why its important for him to keep it.
I talk to it, ONeal said. I talk to her. Its her presence. Her presence in my life. In her sons life.

I believe it does belong to him. He commissioned the TWO portraits. One was hers. One was his. They are not art works as her will specifies. They were family portraits.
Of course it's emotional. That's what family is all about. And the son, Edmond, is the only child Farrah ever had.
I have no doubt it will be classified as a family portrait.

“The problem is the 10 million dollar price tag and the fact that the pic does not belong to him.”
That’s a ridiculous overblown estimate by an appraiser for the University’s side. Another appraiser estimated its value at 1 million. To O’Neill it’s the sentimental value; to the University it’s the dollar value. I’m on O’Neill’s side on this one.
