Merry Christmas, and God Bless us...everyone!

I LOVED G.C. Scott. One of those actors that you cannot take your eyes off of.

"Best version ever, imho."
There was a musical version with Albert Finney released by in the 1970s that I liked ever better. Both are very good however and highly recommended.

Edward Woodward as the Ghost of Christmas Present was another one of my favorites.

We seem to be forgetting Alastair Sim.

The G.C. Scott version is my favorite. I also liked the Alistair Simm (?) version, and the newer animated version w/ Jim Carrey isn’t too bad.

Yes for me he was the perfect Scrooge. I have the DVD, Alister’s acting made you believe he really was Scrooge in the 1951 version. A Classic

I like the part where George C. Scott slaps Bob Crachit for crying about Tiny Tim.

Amen! No one does redemption like he does.
It's not Christmas in my house until Tiny Tim says "God bless us, everyone".

The best version. Great supporting cast of British character actors including as someone mentioned Ed Woodward plus David Warner, Susannah York, and Roger Rees.

People who owed money to Scrooge dancing through the streets behind his coffin singing “Thank You Very Much!” was a definite highlight. And Albert Finney, like Robert Duvall, is watchable in everything he’s ever done.

Sim is my favorite. When he realizes it’s Christmas Day and he’s still alive - wonderful. I particularly like his expression when he’s at Fred’s house and standing on his head . . .

This is one of the few movies that I remember where David Warner plays a gentle, likeable person.
