Heights don’t bother me. Being up on a swaying top heavy platform would make my uncomfortable.

The Author wants to give back each and every day. The day he forgets he is 30 foot in the air and walks out the door...would be the ultimate give back to society IMHO!

Look out!
Nevermind waking up in the middle of the night drunk and going out to water the trees...

That said, there was, and still is, an appeal to those floating condos, a certain aspirational quality that ones humble dwelling could be a self-contained...
***Yes, simply self contained, not necessairly a high rise. The author goes off the deep end here.

It is purely “art”. Totally non-functional. No guy wires, unstable in the slightest wind.
I bet they put it up for fast photos and take it down quickly, lest the wind pick up.

I had one of these. Bought it to use in Grizzly country. Filthy, stinkin’ down-button pushing bears figured it out. Sitting down there clapping his paws together like a trained seal getting a fish. I hate ‘em.

Their saucer-like housing was placed atop giant hydraulics. To keep the working "Makers" up safe from the howling mobs of feral unemployed "Takers" down below.
