These classes are not mandatory but children can use them as extra credit towards other classes. For example, if Becky has a D+ in math she can take a three week after-school class on the Quran and now Sally has an A in Math. Thats a win-win for everyone!
Except for the fact that Becky didn't learn MATH!

If I had a kid in school there would be no way in Gods green Earth he/she would attend a class like this.

The program is designed to educate children about the fundamentals of the Muslim religion and Islamic belief. Imagine if it was the Fundamentals of the Christian religion, what an out-roar there would be! Therefore they can't teach the fundamentals of Islam as well or we are promoting religion in violation of the first amendment.

The really sad part of this is the public WAS WARNED ABOUT THIS GUY many times BEFORE he was elected the first time.
Nobody listened and you (should) know the rest. People get the government they deserve...and half of the electorate did.

In my opinion it’s really time to stop the posting of Satire. Garbage like this is NOT entertainment or funny in any way. We are in an uphill battle to get the truth out and stuff like this is gradually destroying one of our most valuable tools. There are posters here that put up satire on a regular basis knowing some will fall for the gag. In my opinion nonsense like this is harmful as some will not catch the fact that its written as satire and attempt to spread this as truth. Then when it comes out they’ve been had it destroys credibility of Freerepublic and the truth about the conservative message.
