Many moons ago, I heard that the top two were Cornell and Oregon State. Has one or both declined significantly? Or was my initial information simply wrong?

With both games in the 3rd quarter....
I haven’t liked Ohio State since Woody Hays was around. Been watching Az St and Stanford - Stanford by a lot.
Irrespective of anything else, Hayes was cool. He used to show up in Viet Nam with beef steaks for his former players.
Little late to the party. This has been the best month of football I think I have ever experienced. Been going to Auburn games forever and this team was truly amazing. We were at the GA game and watched the AL game last week. Tonight those two teams really put on a show. My! When Auburn won the National Championship in ‘57, the scores were so different. We won all the games and our opponents had scores of 0, 3, 6 etc. Tonight there was a total of 101 points. War Eagle!

In the days of the “old” Rose Bowl, it was illegal for a westerner to have even a kind thought about the Big Ten.
Fun game to watch we were glued to it here in CT. Congrats!!!!
I remember the 1978 Sugar Bowl being billed as the battle of Good vs. Evil. Bear Bryant vs. Woody Hayes. The Bear stood on the sidelines throughout the game without his trademark hat because a gentleman does not wear a hat indoors.
Not to downplay Auburn, but this year they don't have the usual SEC tough defense. That is their only weakness.
Defense wins the BCS, the SEC has proven that.
Looks like a good chance right now for a Ohio St - Fla St game for no. 1. A betting man would need a bunch of points to take OSU. JMO
