A poster replied on the Daily News link that this is a hoax. Yet there seems to be a lot of news links either confirming or copying this report. The nature of the death and its relation to the Fast and Furious movies makes me at least raise a Spockian eyebrow however. I hope it is a hoax. 40 is too young to go.

FTA: “The accident occurred in Santa Clarita - outside of Los Angeles - when Walker’s Porsche apparemtly lost control and crashed into a tree, TMZ reported. The car burst into flames and exploded, TMZ reported.”

So the Porsche lost control, and carried those poor victims to their demise.

I didn't recognize the names “Fast & Furious” or “Paul Walker” but when I looked for his picture, I realized that I had seen the more recent “Fast Five” and it was real good entertainment. Paul Walker did a great job as the ex-lawman love interest of the requisite lead lady.

So sad to hear of this but he will be remembered even further in the cult lore for his apt demise.

Way too many "hoaxes" lately surrounding celebrity deaths. There are some websites out there spreading these hoaxes on purpose. Adam Sandler and Tiger Woods were recent hoaxes.

This may be the reason for the confusion:

Apparently, yesterday (Friday) a satire website posted something about Paul being killed.

That ‘rumor’ was quickly addressed by Paul’s publicity people as being false.

Today, an auto (Porshe) registered to him was apparently involved in a massive accident that totaled the vehicle.

So, we are on hold until an official statement is released by the family or publicist or police or ...

The photo showing the burning debris also shows the traffic camera pointing directly at the wreckage from twenty feet away. I doubt they release that footage.
