Jane Kean, best known for her role as Trixie, the long-suffering wife of Ed Norton on the 1960s TV revival of "The Honeymooners" with Jackie Gleason and Art Carney, has died. She was 90.
Kean, a resident of Toluca Lake, died Tuesday at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank of complications from a fall. Her niece, Deidre Wolpert, confirmed her death.
Although she played diverse roles during a career spanning more than four decades, including performing at London's Palladium before moving to Broadway, Kean said her role in "The Honeymooners" was the character that most people remembered.

A pretty funny show. I haven’t seen watched it in years. Rest in Peace. I think it is so unfortunate that she died on a holiday. I feel so sorry for the family. There should be a law......lol.

A show with next to no set, but funnier than 90% of what's on the tube today.
Pretty drab set to boot, table, 2 chairs, window, 2 doors and icebox :)

After reading the article, it appears she replaced Randolph. But I’m pretty sure I never saw any episodes without her.

“hard to believe that any of them were still alive”
The original Trixie from the original sketch was Elaine Stritch, she played Trixie just that one time in 1951. The classic “39” episodes from 55-56 Trixie is played by Joyce Randolph, Both are still alive according to Wiki.

She took over the role from Joyce Randolph when Jackie Gleason brought the show back briefly in the 60's.(..and again in the 70's).
Here she is,next to Audrey Meadows,in a 1970's Honeymooners Valentines day episode.

The Honeymooners, from that handful of shows in the 50's to the Jane Kean days were so incredibly funny, I nearly choked to death laughing while watching them.
Great Caesar's Ghost! Those people were funny!

That was great, old original TV. A sparse set and the actors’ characters carried the day.
Though, it has to be said that much of early TV was derived from the great radio programs of those times.

they were already too old be “honeymooners” in the 70’s, I guess it was supposed be a charming old people getting married thing.
