This morning at 6am CNN reported that a winter storm had delivered a leveling blow to Buffalo. The reporter was stationed on what looked to be Delaware Avenue in the city, where there appeared to be no sign of battering. The reporter then stated that more snow was on the way. Then, the same reporter ended up in Amherst at 8am, showing the debilitating effects that the storm had caused. When he reached down to the grown, there might have been three inches of light fluffy snow. There are also reports of patches of slick black ice, stated the reporter, and heavy snow on the power lines. The camera then panned upwards to reveal intact power lines covered with a dusting of snow.

Where's the federal aid?
It snows in Buffalo. Wow, that’s crazy.
Mmmmmmmmm battered buffalo
Yep. "Bore-ass"
It's ho hum at this point in eastern MA as well, although there's a ways to go before its over.
I did college in Buffalo. I would set my alarm back an hour to give myself time to dig out the car in the morning. Put hair on my chest.
It’s 30 degrees F in New Orleans. it’s not even Winter yet
Global warming is a hoax. Will idiot democrat voters finally realize their beloved news media and their beloved government have been lying to them for 30 years about global warming?
for 30 years the news media and scientists and gov have been yelling global warming . but there’s been no warming only cooling. no sea levels rising from melting ice caps.global warming is a hoax. this has been the coldest year I remember here( no hurricanes etc.) . The Sun’s cycle says this is only the beginning of a little Ice Age. (look up solar cycle 24 and 25)
will idiot democrats finally realize their news media and government have been lying to them and what else about?
nope.
It’s gorgeous here, actually! A few inches fell and it’s that lovely snow that sits on the tree branches “just so” and looks like a scene out of Currier & Ives. It’s also clear visibility and the roads are clear.
There was NO storm here. What we woke up to this morning is child’s play. Idiots.
Granted, I DO actually fear weather of any kind but I should be an anomaly. (:
Not only that, but it snows a LOT. Sometimes from mid-November until mid-April with a few days reprieve here and there.
I grew up in North Dakota and thought our winters were second to none, for the lower 48 at least. And while our winters were certainly colder than Buffalo on average, we seldom got nearly as much snow.
The only news I read is carefully selected on the interwebs. AFTER I browse FR.
The short answer is no. There is a reason that idiots are idiots.
The Swedes have a saying "there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothes". And they live it.
All that said, I left the NE and moved to the desert where I now layer up if it is 60 degrees. (;
>> Mmmmmmmmm battered buffalo
lol
The only thing getting battered these days in Buffalo are the Sabres!
Such big words! Does “acclimate” mean “freeze your butt off”?
I’m dying down here in Virginia. I miss wondering which car is mine in the parking lot.
It pays to be on the east side of a great lake and Buffalo is "blessed" that way. But if you want to see lake effect snow you have to go to Syracuse or Watertown. Syracuse almost always wins the Most Snow in NY crown every year (Watertown is just too small to be counted).
