Yes they can go quite a while without uncovering with the blanket. However, we usually have cold enough weather here that I like to just fix it and forget for about 2 months.

If we get to the teens and below zero, I’ll add straw on top. Don’t usually have to do that till the Jan/Feb time frame.

Johnny, I know you may be at a Thanksgiving dinner, but when you get back, talk to me about making wine from grapes. I'm looking on Burpee at the grape below. If they could stand the heat on the back or side lattice (the side lattice doesn't get the blasting direct sun like the back wall does and the back wall on the left side isn't as bad as the right back wall. I could plant grapes on the left back wall and the side lattice there. It says full sun for these grapes. This would be buying two plants, not seed.

So, how complicated is it to make grape wine? Tell me what you know in some detail, don't just say “It's not hard.” Or, “It's hard.” I want to know how you do it. If I order these by Sunday, it's free shipping.

Grape, Marquette

Zone: 5-8

Sun: Full Sun

Height: 4-10 feet

Spread: 8-10 feet

Resistant To: Cold, Disease

Ability to withstand the harmful effects of other organisms (deer, diseases) or adverse growing conditions (drought, heat, cold, wind).
